2013 USRowing Youth Nationals Results

Malvern Rowing had a good weekend of racing in Tennessee, racing at the USRowing Youth national championships for schools and clubs.
 
The Malvern varsity quad of Jim Sincavage, Alex Stoczko, Chris White, and Chris Frey finished 3rd in the youth quad event. Malvern's quad was the only school or club in the Philadelphia area that won a medal.

Jimmy McManus and JP Clark finished 8th in the Varsity light double and Chris Mudrick and Jackson Connor finished 12th in the Varsity heavy double.

Malvern Rowing Wins 2 SRAA National Championships

Malvern had a great day at the SRAA National Championships for schools. In rough racing conditions, Malvern Rowers Jim McManus, JP Clark, Chris Mudrick, and Jackson Connor won the Varsity Lightweight Quad, while the varsity quad of Jim Sincavage, Alex Stoczko, Chris White, and Chris Frey won the Varsity Heavyweight Quad.

Stotesbury Cup Results

 Malvern Rowers had a good day at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta. The varsity quad finished 1st in their final with a time of 4:31.3 , almost 4 seconds ahead of second place Roman Catholic, to win the Sonzogni trophy. Malvern rowers also finished 3rd in the varsity lightweight double and 5th in the varsity heavyweight double.

USRowing Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifiers

Malvern rowing had a great day at the Mercer, NJ USRowing Mid Atlantic regional qualifiers for the USRowing Youth National Rowing Championships for schools and clubs in Oakridge, Tennessee. Malvern won the Heavyweight Double, Lightweight Double, and the Heavyweight Quad.
Malvern races next at the Stotesbury Regatta on Friday.

City Championship Results

Malvern Rowing had a fair day at the PSRA City Championships winning the Varsity Light Quad, finishing 2nd in Varsity Heavy Quad, and finishing third in the JV Single. The Varsity Heavy Quad was a close race with Roman Catholic finishing ahead.

ISA/5th Manny Flick Results

Malvern Rowing had a busy weekend, racing in Mercer, NJ and Philadelphia.
At Mercer lake on Saturday, Malvern's Varsity Heavy Quad finished 1.3 seconds behind New Canaan Rowing Club in a heat. All quad finals were cancelled  because of wind Saturday afternoon leaving Malvern's Varsity Heavy and Light Quads with no finals to race.

The team then headed back to Philadelphia for the 5th Manny Flick on Sunday. Malvern's Heavy and Light Quad raced in the same Varsity quad final in very fast conditions with Malvern's Heavy quad winning by .09 over Roman Catholic with the lights finishing 4th by .54 behind Conestoga's Heavyweight quad. Max Adamcik finished second in the JV Single.

Malvern races next at the Philadelphia rowing Championship in May.

4th Manny Flick Results

Malvern Rowing had a good day on Sunday at the 4th Manny Flick, winning both finals of the Varsity Heavy Quad event (Flight 1: Jim Sincavage, Alex Stoczko, Chris White, Chris Frey and Flight 2: Jimmy McManus, JP Clark, Chris Mudrick, Jackson Connor).  

Freshman quad (Nick Rubino, Rob DiCicco, Brett Allan, Tyler Legner)
 
Malvern finished 2nd and 3rd in the Novice (Michael Droogan, Xavier Ruffin, Anthony DelVescovo, Mike Daubney) and Freshman (Tyler Legner, Brett Allan, Rob DiCicco, Nick Rubino) Quad events in very close racing.

Malvern Rowing had a fair day at the 3rd Manny Flick, winning the Varsity Light Quad, finishing 2nd in the Varsity Heavy Quad 1/2 second to Roman Catholic HS. Malvern races next weekend at the 4th Manny Flick.

2nd Manny Flick Results

 
Malvern had a good day at the 2nd Manny Flick held Sunday, March 24. Malvern rowers
won the Varsity Light Quad, Varsity Heavy Quad and JV Single events, finishing 2nd
in the Freshman Quad event.

1st Manny Flick Results

Malvern rowing had a good day at the first Manny Flick today. Malvern A Varsity Quad finished first in their final. Malvern Varsity Quad B finished 2nd in their final. Both finals had six schools racing,
a large number of Varsity quads. Malvern's Varsity light double finished 2nd in their race.

SilverSkiff Regatta Results

 
 
Racing over 400 other athletes, including many Olympic medalists, the Malvern rowing team had a fun competitive racing trip at the SilverSkiff Regatta in Turin, Italy.

Head of the Schuylkill Results 2012


Malvern Rowing had a fair day Sunday in windy conditions before the arrival of Hurricane Sandy. Malvern finished 2nd, 5th, 10th and 11th in the Varsity Double Under 19 and 17 events. Malvern rowers earlier finished 2nd, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th in a field of 50 single scullers in the Varsity under 17 and 19 events.

Malvern rowers leave for the Silverskiff Regatta in Turin, Italy on November 7th, racing in the largest singles regatta in the World.

Results: Head of the Charles 2012

Malvern rowing had a fair day at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, finishing 10th, 11th, and 20th out of 43 boats. Malvern coaches were 1st, 6th, and 15th in the Championship Light single race, representing Malta B.C. Conditions were sunny with a strong headwind on the race course. Malvern rowers will race next at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on October 28th. For complete results click here.

Navy Day 2012 Results

Malvern rowing had a good day at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia. Six Malvern rowers raced twice Saturday. Malvern finished 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, and 10th in the High School Single event. Malvern rowers finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the Open Double event earlier in the day, losing to USA senior national team rowers. Malvern rowers look forward to competing next weekend in Boston at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Results: USRowing Youth Rowing National Championships

Malvern rowers competed well but finished poorly at the 2012 USRowing Youth Rowing National Championships for schools and rowing clubs in oakridge, Tennessee. Malvern's Quad, heavy double, and light double finished 9th, 11th, and 13th. The regatta was dominated by rowing clubs with many races decided by less than a second. For complete results click here

Results: SRAA National Championships




Malvern rowing had a great day at the Scholastic National Rowing Championships in Camden, NJ. Malvern rowers won two national championships in the Varsity Light Quad and Varsity Heavy Quad events.  Malvern finished 3rd in the Varsity Heavy Double and 6th in the Junior Quad events. Malvern's Varsity Quad has won this event six consecutive years.

Stotesbury 2012 Results

Malvern rowing had a fair day at Stotesbury, winning three medals but no victories. Malvern finished 2nd in the Varsity Double, finishing third in the Varsity Light Double, and the Varsity
Quad. The Malvern boys raced well but came up short in the varsity races.
It was great to see the alumni turnout cheering the team on.
