Malvern Rowing had a busy weekend, racing in Mercer, NJ and Philadelphia.
At Mercer lake on Saturday, Malvern's Varsity Heavy Quad finished 1.3 seconds behind New Canaan Rowing Club in a heat. All quad finals were cancelled because of wind Saturday afternoon leaving Malvern's Varsity Heavy and Light Quads with no finals to race.
The team then headed back to Philadelphia for the 5th Manny Flick on Sunday. Malvern's Heavy and Light Quad raced in the same Varsity quad final in very fast conditions with Malvern's Heavy quad winning by .09 over Roman Catholic with the lights finishing 4th by .54 behind Conestoga's Heavyweight quad. Max Adamcik finished second in the JV Single.
Malvern races next at the Philadelphia rowing Championship in May.

2nd Manny Flick Results
Malvern had a good day at the 2nd Manny Flick held Sunday, March 24. Malvern rowers
won the Varsity Light Quad, Varsity Heavy Quad and JV Single events, finishing 2nd
in the Freshman Quad event.

1st Manny Flick Results
Malvern rowing had a good day at the first Manny Flick today. Malvern A Varsity Quad finished first in their final. Malvern Varsity Quad B finished 2nd in their final. Both finals had six schools racing,
a large number of Varsity quads. Malvern's Varsity light double finished 2nd in their race.

SilverSkiff Regatta Results
Racing over 400 other athletes, including many Olympic medalists, the Malvern rowing team had a fun competitive racing trip at the SilverSkiff Regatta in Turin, Italy.

Head of the Schuylkill Results 2012
Malvern Rowing had a fair day Sunday in windy conditions before the arrival of Hurricane Sandy. Malvern finished 2nd, 5th, 10th and 11th in the Varsity Double Under 19 and 17 events. Malvern rowers earlier finished 2nd, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th in a field of 50 single scullers in the Varsity under 17 and 19 events.
Malvern rowers leave for the Silverskiff Regatta in Turin, Italy on November 7th, racing in the largest singles regatta in the World.

Results: Head of the Charles 2012
Malvern rowing had a fair day at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, finishing 10th, 11th, and 20th out of 43 boats. Malvern coaches were 1st, 6th, and 15th in the Championship Light single race, representing Malta B.C.
Conditions were sunny with a strong headwind on the race course. Malvern rowers will race next at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on October 28th.

Navy Day 2012 Results
Malvern rowing had a good day at the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia. Six Malvern rowers raced twice Saturday. Malvern finished 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, and 10th in the High School Single event. Malvern rowers finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the Open Double event earlier in the day, losing to USA senior national team rowers. Malvern rowers look forward to competing next weekend in Boston at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Results: USRowing Youth Rowing National Championships
Malvern rowers competed well but finished poorly at the 2012 USRowing Youth
Rowing National Championships for schools and rowing clubs in oakridge, Tennessee. Malvern's Quad, heavy double, and light double finished 9th, 11th, and 13th. The regatta was dominated by rowing clubs with many races decided by less than a second.

Results: SRAA National Championships
Malvern rowing had a great day at the Scholastic National Rowing Championships in Camden, NJ. Malvern rowers won two national championships in the Varsity Light Quad and Varsity Heavy Quad events. Malvern finished 3rd in the Varsity Heavy Double and 6th in the Junior Quad events. Malvern's Varsity Quad has won this event six consecutive years.

Stotesbury 2012 Results
Malvern rowing had a fair day at Stotesbury, winning three medals but no victories. Malvern finished 2nd in the Varsity Double, finishing third in the Varsity Light Double, and the Varsity
Quad. The Malvern boys raced well but came up short in the varsity races.
It was great to see the alumni turnout cheering the team on.

2012 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Junior District Championships Results
Malvern raced at the USRowing Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Saturday at Mercer Lake, NJ. Malvern rowers qualified three boats to race at the USRowing Youth National Rowing Championships in Oakridge, Tennessee on June 9th to 12th. Malvern won the Heavy Varsity Double and finished 2nd in the Varsity Light Double and Varsity Heavy Quad. Malvern finished 2 seconds behind Conestoga in the Varsity Quad.
Malvern looks forward to competing in the Stotesbury Regatta which begins this Friday.

Malvern wins 4 Philadelphia City Championships
Malvern Rowing had a great day at the Philadelphia City Rowing Championships. Malvern rowers won theNovice Quad, Varsity Light Double, Varsity Light Quad, and Varsity Heavy Quad. Malvern finished 2nd in the Varsity Heavy Double, Novice Double, and Novice single, finishing fifth in the JV Double.
Malvern won the Varsity Quad won for the 7th straight year in a row. The Varsity Quad of Austin Velte, Mike Lewers, Alex Stoczko and Jeremy Gonzalez won by 1.80 seconds after finishing 4th in the morning time trial.

Weekend Results
Malvern had three days of hard racing at the Mercer Sprints, including schools and clubs from the East Coast. Malvern rowers won the novice quad, junior double, 2nd Vvarsity double, and varsity quad race Friday and Saturday. The varsity quad win was over last Sunday flick winner Conestoga HS with club crews finishing back. Malvern rowers finished 2nd in the varsity double, varsity light quad, junior quad, and 2nd varsity quad events.
Malvern rowers returned on Sunday to Philadelphia, racing in the rainy 5th flick. Malvern won the novice single, novice double, novice quad, and the varsity light double. Malvern finished second in the junior double, varsity double, junior quad, and the varsity quad in close finishes. The varsity quad finished 1.25 seconds behind winner Montclair HS, ahead of Roman Catholic and Conestoga. Malvern is preparing for the Philadelphia City Championships in two weeks. Malvern Rowing had a poor day racing at the 4th Manny Flick regatta today. Malvern rowers won the novice single and the varsity light double events. Malvern finished second in the JV Double, JV Quad, and Varsity Double. The Varsity Quad finished third, 1.3 seconds behind 1st place Conestoga, .99 behind 2nd place Roman Catholic.
Malvern races at the Mercer Sprints Friday/Saturday in NJ, returning to Philadelphia on Sunday for the fifth Manny Flick.
